Common Scents

A series where we learn about different oils, their uses, and why they're so wonderful!

What is it?

Lavender, or by its scientific name, Lavandula, is a type of flowering plant in a big family of 47 other species!  It is most well known for its purple flowers and its clean, calming aroma.

When one thinks of essential oils, lavender is often the first oil that comes to mind! There is an exponential amount of uses for lavender as well.  Calming and soothing, it is perfect for relaxation.  The aroma brings you to a place of serenity.

Use this versatile oil for:

  • Warm, soothing baths with Epsom salt

  • Spritzing with distilled water on pillows for a calming night's sleep

  • Diffusing into the air to promote relaxation

  • Balancing emotions

  • Mixing with your lotions, shampoos, and soaps

One of my favorite brands:

Young Living Lavender Essential Oil
