Common Scents: Cardamom

Common Scents

A series where we learn about different oils, their uses, and why they're so wonderful!

What is it?

Cardamom is a spice made from the seeds of several plants in the genera Elettaria and Amomum in the family Zingiberaceae.  It is the third most expensive spice in the world, behind vanilla and saffron.

Its intense fragrance has made Cardamom, both the plant and fragrance, popular in many different cultures.

  • Used in spice mixes for various dishes such as curries

  • Teas and hot beverages

  • Clearing breathing passages with intense fragrance

  • Diffused into the air for refreshing respiratory support

One of my favorite brands:

Young Life Cardamom Oil
